Over the years I have read several articles regarding what a stay at home parent does all day. While doing some Google searching I ran across the FABULOUS Matt Walsh Blog and his article “You’re a stay-at-home-mom? What do you do all day?” It really floors me to think that with the centuries of stay at home parents, that people are still confused by the concept.
No, I do not sit on the couch watching soap operas and eating bon bons all day. I also do not wear cute little dresses and aprons and bake cute little Pinterest like desserts. Though, I have been known to whip up an awesome trifle from time to time. I actually do quite a bit of productive “jobs” in my 18 hour days.
Basically what I am trying to say is if a stay at home parent actually received a paycheck; YOU COULDN’T AFFORD THEM!
I decided to make a list of all the jobs I have been known to do and how much I would make in a year..I promise you the numbers are mind blowing.
Daycare Director ~ $51,290
Chauffeur ~ $25,020

Therapist ~ $86,000 *Yup that’s right, have you ever had a distraught prepubescent tween?*

Total ~ $435,451 a year
That breaks down to $8374.05 a week or $209.35 an hour. Told you..MIND BLOWING. I rest my case, stay at home parents might as well be The President 
So next time someone asks you what you do all day, you will have a multiple answers to choose from.
